Identity Verification Failures Audit Report :

This report generates the list of users who have failed at multi-factor authentication (MFA) . The information provided by this report includes the time of failure, the domain name, the total number of attempts, and the type of identity verification (multi-factor authentication) attempted. These information help administrators handle security risks like brute force and dictionary attacks.

Report filtering and generation :

  • Domain : Specify the domain using the Select Domain option
  • OU : Use the Add OUs option to specify OUs if necessary.
  • Time period : The Period drop-down menu can be used to filter results by specifying the time period. Options include Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month and Custom Period.
  • Then, click on Generate to generate the report.

    • Note: If you have enabled the FIDO Passkeys authenticator in your organization, please keep in mind that the invalid user verification attempts (incorrect PIN or Biometric verification) are tracked on the platform or roaming authenticator and not in ADSelfService Plus.

    Certain authenticators like YubiKey have their own blocking mechanism in such cases.

  • Advanced Filtering : Once the report is generated the entries can be filtered based on the following parameters by clicking on the Advanced Filter icon:
    • Identity verification type :Any of the 15 multi-factor authentication methods supported by ADSelfService Plus.
  • Sorting : Click on any of the columns except delivery status column to view the report's entries in ascending order or descending order.
